By sorting out the freighter fleets of the world’s major airlines, it is found that:
First , the global freighter capacity is mainly concentrated in the three integrated logistics service providers Fedex, DHL and UPS. Fedex operates 681 freighters, DHL has 270 freighters, and UPS operates 261 freighters. In order to meet the needs of cargo and mail transportation at different distances, the cargo aircraft fleets of these three integrated logistics service providers are all composed of cargo aircraft with different transportation capabilities of near, medium and long distances.
Second, SF Airlines is currently moving towards an integrated logistics service provider, and its freighter fleet consists of B747F, B767F, B757F and B737F. With a fleet of 58 freighters and 2 long-range freighters, compared with the three major integrated logistics service providers, there is still a long way to go.
Third, Atlas Air has the largest number of B747F/777F intercontinental long-haul freighters in the world, with about 63 aircraft. Atlas Air is mainly engaged in ACMI, CMI, charter flights, dry lease and other businesses.
Fourth , apart from integrated logistics service providers, there are not many cargo airlines in the world that only operate all-cargo aircraft, including Luxembourg Cargo Airlines with 27 B747F series freighters, Aerobridge Airlines with 18 B747F series freighters, and 10 B747F series freighters. Freighter of Azerbaijan Silk Road West Airlines. These companies have one thing in common, that is, they all operate B747F series long-range freighters, and most of them are intercontinental freight routes.
Fifth , the number of cargo aircraft of Chinese airlines is small, and there is a lack of strong cargo airlines. Up to now, there are only more than 170 cargo aircrafts of all airlines in mainland China. Among them, SF Airlines has the largest number of B757Fs and B737Fs; China Southern Airlines Cargo has only 14 aircrafts with the largest number of long-haul freighters. China’s air cargo needs to speed up, let’s do it and work hard!
